Tomorrow evening is our 55th annual recital, and our seniors last time on the Music Hall stage. Each year, we ask our graduating seniors to write a farewell note for the back of our recital shirts. Our final senior... Isabella Cascone! I started dancing at P&D when I turned 3 years old, and I remember each time I’d come to the studio, the older girls would always pick me up and carry me everywhere. They carried me to class, in between classes, and all the way out to the car. They even carried me around at competitions. :) There have been tons of amazing routines, but I would have to say that Fame is my favorite. I love Jazz, and that number was so fierce and had so much style. Even though it was challenging, it was SO FUN to perform and the crowd loved it! P&D molded me in so many ways, not just as a dancer, but as a person. It helped instill hard work and grit. It taught me about dedication and commitment. It taught me about confidence and humility. It taught me about leading and following. It taught me about love and grace. My favorite memory at P&D is probably 2022 nationals. It was my last nationals with my sister Sofia and we knew our time together at P&D was almost over. We were so sad but also very grateful for all our years together, especially as duo partners. We knew we’d never get that back. It was a sad week but also a really special week. I’ve been so lucky to be mentored by some of the most amazing people in the last 15 years at P&D, but Dana McGuire has been my most influential mentor. She spends a lot of time with me in private lessons, and we talk about a lot of things, not just dance. She’s always been a huge support system to my sister and me. She’s invested in my goals and my future, she’s honest and loving and real. She is like family to me. I am so excited to be attending Arizona State University in the fall where I am majoring in Global Politics, and I will be reunited with my sister, Sofia as a member of the Arizona State University Dance Team!

My first memory of P&D is Mrs. Dana walking me around the studio for the first time and introducing me to everyone! I was very nervous at first, but I immediately made new friends, who I now call my family. Everyone was so welcoming, and I immediately felt at home. I couldn’t thank everyone enough for making me feel like I belonged!! My favorite P&D dance is Libre! It was my very first group I performed at the studio. I loved the innovative choreography, the high energy, and dancing with my best friends right by my side. P&D has molded me into the person and dancer I am today. Their support and dedication to each and every dancer has impacted me and so many others. Thank you to the P&D staff for encouraging me and pushing me each week. I’ve made way too many memories at P&D to pick a favorite. Each memory will always hold a special place in my heart.💜 Mrs. Dana and Mrs. Megan have influenced me most since I’ve started at the studio. They both took me in with open arms and helped me reach my goals as a dancer. Without their continuous support and dedication, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you for everything you guys have done for me! Next year, I will be attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and plan to major in marketing. I will also be a member of the 2023-2024 dance team! Let’s go Vols🧡

P&D class of 2023! 💜💙💜💙 Join us on Wednesday, June 7 to celebrate these dancers final recital! Show starts at 6:30pm at the Music Hall. 📸 @aubreysophia

In first memory at P&D, I was 11 years old and in ballet class. Not knowing the etiquette, I decided to sit on the floor after barre. My teacher quickly told by one of my teachers that there is no sitting in ballet class! I haven't sat on the floor since! My favorite routine was Jumpin' Jack, my first production. Everyone played a role in making that dance what it was - amazing! I loved seeing, and hearing, all our parents and teachers cheer for us. P&D has molded to become a person with a strong work ethic and drive. I've learned to balance a busy schedule, not give up, and how to be part of a unit that wants to achieve the same goal. These are things I can use for the rest of my life. My favorite P&D memory is the last production rehearsal before nationals. All the girls cheer and scream at the top of their lungs for the whole duration of the dance, and you can no longer hear the music. You can look in the corner and find our teachers covering their ears. Ms. Beth has really mentored me. From the very beginning, she has pushed me to be a better dancer and has ultimately gotten me where I am today. Thank you, Ms. Beth, for being my rock. I will be attending Kansas State University and majoring in business. I plan to join clubs and other organizations to increase my college experience.

My earliest memory at P&D was during my first audition weekend. I had never tried anything like this before, and it was scary! Mrs. P asked me how it went, and we sat behind the desk talking about auditions, our favorite animals, and we laughed until my mom came to pick me up. Mrs. P was my first friend at the studio, and I am so grateful for her! My favorite P&D routine was The Jam, our production when I was in 7th grade. I remember the 11:00 am Saturday practices with my best friends laughing about who knows what. It was so fun to be part of something so big with so many people. P&D has molded me in so many ways. Due to the dedication and faith my teachers have in me, I have grown so much since I started dancing. I have a stronger work ethic that I know will get me far in life. I use to be very quiet, and P&D made it easy for me to break out of my shell and be myself. I am who I am today due to the lessons I learned and friends I've made during my time here! My favorite memory has to be from my sophomore year jazz large, 16 Shots. For our last summer practice before Nationals, we all cheered and yelled for one another the whole dance. We were screaming so loudly that I’m pretty sure I lost my voice! I felt super connected to my group, and everyone was having a good time doing something we love with the people we love! I smiled a lot that day, and it’s stuck with me ever since. Mrs. Gina has had a very big impact on me. She hasn’t taught me from the beginning, but our short time together has made me a better person. She's taught me important life lessons. She believed in me and wanted to see me succeed. She is kind and hardworking, and I love her very much. While Mrs. P never taught me dance, she has been a pillar in my life for the past 7 years. Her bright smile is always the first thing I see when I walk in the door, and I look forward to catching up with her whenever we can. Her kindness and humor are infectious, and she is one of my favorite people. I plan to attend UCLA in the fall and will major in dance at their school for world arts and cultures.

Our 3rd featured senior is Abby Taylor! My first memory is walking in the front door and seeing Miss P at the desk with a big smile on her face. I also remember my first Work Week at P&D, especially all of the shows we did. It was amazing to see all of the endless support and cheering for everyone during this week, and the many Work Weeks that followed. My first nationals, Hall of Fame Virginia Beach, was also very special. I remember going onstage for production, The Jam, around midnight or one a.m. My favorite routines have spanned throughout multiple years and genres. Daft Punk, a teen tap group, Bring the Noise, our production, and Higher, my senior year tap group, definitely rank in the top three. Priscilla and Dana’s helped mold me by teaching me many important lessons, like respect, honesty, responsibility, and compassion. Holding me to high standards, I was constantly pushed to improve on my dancing skills and be a better person, both on and off the dance floor. Having an amazing group of teachers and staff members to mentor me has been extremely meaningful in helping develop me throughout my years at P&D. One of my favorite memories has to be during finals at nationals in Pensacola Beach, FL in 2022. During the senior jazz line, Libre, we had a habit of cheering, screaming, and going crazy during the circle section towards the end. One teacher that I have been able to work with every year I’ve been at P&D is Miss Teri, or T$ as some of us call her. She has choreographed my tap solo every year, and I have been able to develop a deep relationship with her through the many private lessons I’ve had. She is constantly supporting her dancers and pushing us to our highest capabilities. It is evident she takes pride in knowing her students, and I am so thankful for everything she has taught me and allowed me to do. I am so excited to attend Kansas State University in the fall! I am entering the Interior Architecture program, where I plan to obtain my Master’s degree and study abroad in Italy during my studies. I can’t wait to get involved in Greek Life on campus and spend my time cheering on the Wildcats!

Our next senior is Rylee Grossman! My favorite memory is doing a P&D production for the first time. It's something words can't describe - the environment is crazy positive and something i will never forget. My favorite routine was Tricky, the tap large group my sophomore year. I definitely was not a tap dancer when i came to P&D, but now I can confidently say I love tap and performing it on stage. From teaching me how to audition for something professional to how to pull my weight and be a team player, P&D has taught me so many valuable life lessons. My favorite memory is Libre, my jazz line my junior year. This dance and all the late night rehearsals are something I definitely will not forget. This dance is a fun memory that will stick with me forever. My biggest mentor is Ms. Gina. She came back to P&D my sophomore year and has been my biggest role model. I look up to because of her lifetime achievements and love hearing stories about her days as a professional ballerina. She amazes me every day. She’s also been a friend and someone I can go to in times of need. I appreciate Ms. Gina and all of the things she has done for me. I will forever be grateful for her. I will attend Northwest Missouri State University to study early childhood education with an emphasis in special education. I will be a member of their 2023-2024 dance team and hope to participate in their choir programs as well.

It's time to celebrate our 7 graduating seniors! First up is Karlee McEnroe. "Although I'm new to the studio this year, it feels like I've been here my whole life! I was scared on my first day, but was so welcomed by everyone and quickly found some of my best friends. P&D has strengthen my work ethic and changed my whole mindset. My biggest influences are not only my teachers, but also the girls. My teachers push me every day to become stronger, and they’re so willing to help in any situation. I am lucky to be surrounded by such a talented and supportive group of girls. Dancing with them makes me want to do better, and it's so hard not to improve when you're surrounded by so much talent and positivity. For the next four, I will be attending Arizona State University to Major in Biochemistry. I am so excited for the next chapter, but P&D will always have my heart!" Congratulations, Karlee! After years of teaching at Dancetown Miami, Emanuella has developed a love for teaching all ages across many genres of dance. She specializes in cha-cha, samba, rumba, and jive, and teaches all levels and ages! Open to all dancers across the region!

She is an instructor and choreographer at Orange County School of the Arts, West Coast School of the Arts and South County Dance Company. Chalatorn also choreographs and teaches master classes throughout the United States. She was part of Unity LA under the direction of Tessandra Chavez and has appeared on numerous episodes of America’s Got Talent and The Big Bang Theory.
